Welcome to my travel blog! My name is Nadia and I love to travel and experience new places around the world, whether it’s historical architecture in cities or scenic views and nature in the countryside. I wanted to create this site to share my passion for traveling and to also help others explore amazing places. As I am someone who loves walking and hiking, my posts will definitely include a lot of that! I’m also a gluten-free foodie, but don’t worry, most restaurant recommendations aren’t solely gluten-free as the rest of my family does not care for it!

I grew up in Colorado and during my childhood, most of our travels were taking road trips and going to the mountains – A LOT!! While I maybe didn’t appreciate all of those mountain trips so much as a kid, I believe it’s what created my obsession and love for them as an adult. Road trips were a bit more exciting as a kid than Saturdays in the mountains. Though, I’ll admit, a big part of that excitement was unlimited access to containers of snacks in the back of our 90s Toyota Van (no AC included!). A kid who can eat however many Oreos, Chips Ahoy, or Cheese Ritz Bits they want – what kid wouldn’t be thrilled?! With some drives being up to 20 hours before reaching our destination, the snacks were definitely the highlight!

So, now that I’m a mom and have two kids of my own, I hope to also inspire a love for travel and hiking in them. Just like myself when I was young, I know my kids don’t always appreciate the spots we go to (especially if it involves a lot of walking), but I hope that they’ll grow up to love it like I did. As long as we keep the hikes short and snacks at-the-ready, they usually stay content. I’m usually met with less enthusiasm than I anticipated when I ask them what they think of the amazing scenery. However, when the snacks come out…that’s when I hear the excitement!

Anyway, here I am. After taking a long break from overseas travel because of having young kids (domestic flights were tough enough!), we’re finally back to traveling. We finally took a two-week family vacation in Europe in June, visiting 5 countries, and that really rekindled my desire to travel. As soon as we landed in Lisbon, I felt that wonderful feeling of experiencing a new country and culture and thought – we have to get back to traveling more often like we used to. Hours of research went into planning that two week vacation – making sure all details were covered so that we could have a seamless trip – and thankfully, we did! We managed to get to just about every stop I planned for and had one of the best vacations. All of the planning, and joy of the trip, inspired me to want to share experiences and tips with others. I’m ready to help other families (or anyone out there) have great adventures!
